The Latest Update From Dogs Victoria

Dear Members,

Over the past few months we have faced some extreme challenges at DOGS Victoria. This has seen numerous changes in management and most recently DOGS Victoria announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive, Dr Timothy Adams.

Tim, who will join us in mid-February, is a Veterinarian and has additional tertiary qualifications as an MBA. He brings to DOGS Victoria extensive advocacy experience at all levels of Government and with animal organisations, has strategic media and communications experience and proven financial and business acumen derived from working with previous businesses and groups in the Animal industry. You can read more by clicking here.

Management Committee wishes to acknowledge the selfless dedication and service Wayne Fleming has made to Dogs Victoria, initially as President then as Acting CE. Wayne stepped up to lead the organisation during a period of adversity and uncertainty and we owe a great debt of gratitude to him.

Moving forward the issues surrounding the Victorian Government Bill remain an urgent priority forDOGS Victoria. We continue to work on a strategy to ensure we position ourselves as a true representative organisation. We will have more to report to members following the next management committee meeting in mid-February. This week we will also be meeting with the Ministers advisor for further discussions on the proposed legislation.

We also looked internally at many of our systems and the way we communicate. One thing that stood out was our very out dated logo and visual identity – the last update was ten years ago.

Today, DOGS Victoria is proud to announce the launch of a new, simple and stylish logo as part of the ongoing development and update to our brand identity – see below.

DOGS Victoria internal communications team worked in conjunction with external web agency PMG, to refresh our logo to better reflect the organisation today and to take us forward with a classic and streamlined design.

Soon you will see all our marketing materials updated to reflect this new logo and brand feel, alongside a new, easier to navigate website. Over time, this rebrand will extend to all our marketing literature, stationary and promotional products, so that we have a consistent, coordinated look which is uniquelyDOGS Victoria.

We appreciate your support whilst we update and evolve here at DOGS Victoria. For our affiliates, if you are in the process of producing artwork which requires the logo please contact Janet Davidson (jdavidson@dogsvictoria.org.au) in our newly developed Communications department for a copy.

With regards,

Darren Bowey
Acting President
DOGS Victoria
