Matthew Norton

7/2/1969 – 16/8/2017

The Gordon Setter Club of Victoria wish to past on our deepest condolences to our former Club Secretary Dr Linda Beer on passing of her partner Matthew Norton after a long battle with cancer.

Matthew was a much-loved member of the Gordon Setter Club of Victoria and great lover of Gordon Setters and dogs in general, you could always have relied on Matthew to help where he could, whether you needed him to hold on a dog ringside at a dog show or he would come down to our club’s Field Training Fun day to deliver us some fry pans when they were forgotten in pristine white shirt before he was heading out for lunch.

Over years Matthew and Linda had some lovely wins with their Gordon Setters both inside and outside the show ring, with Australia’s first Gordon Setter to attain their Master Excellent Flyball title with Aust Gr Ch Rokeena Eliza Bennet and Australia’s first Supreme Champion Bitch in Gordon Setter with their homebred girl Aust Sup Ch Deveron Dark Skies just to name a few.

On behalf of past and present committee members, we would like thank Matthew for all of his contributions to the dog world and to tell you that you will be sorely missed by all of us.

Rest in Peace Matthew
