2016 Field Training Fun Day Photos

Hello all!

On Sunday, 21st August several people came to Diggers Rest to participate in the 2016 Annual Field Training Fun Day.

The day was a success (despite the rain!) and all the Gordon Setters, and owners, had a blast learning and trying out tracking the scent of quail and setting the birds.

Thank you to everyone who made the day a success!!

You will find in the menu the new page which has photos. You will also find them on our Facebook page here.

A feel good story from overseas

Hi guys, here is a feel good story from one of members Triseter Gordon Setters Esther Joseph and Micheal Looby.
At the recent National Gundog Championship Show in the UK both the Best of Breed and Dog Challenge winner along with winner of the Bitch Challenge had a parent that came from Australian lines.
Judge and Breed Specialist: Carol Moore
Best of Breed and DCC (his first CC in the UK)

EW/ITA/INT Ch Ludstar Fredderick Frankenstein JWW-WW (Aust Gr Ch Triseter Celtic Ice x Ita Ludstar Velsheda) owned by Dr M & Dr L S Ivaldi

Bitch Challenge and BOS (her sixth CC)
Sh Ch Laurelhach Legacy JW ( Dt Ch Laurelhach Moviestar x Sh Ch/Aust Ch. Triseter Ebonie Zena at Laurelhach) owned Frances Boxall

We would like to thank Esther, Micheal and Frances for sharing this story, it’s great to see Australian breeding doing so well overseas.

In Remembrance

Marcia Hall, a Life Member of the Gordon Setter Club of Victoria, has passed away.

Marcia would be known to most members who have attended our shows, as she was our ticket writer for more years than I can remember. 2015 was the first time in memory that she was not there, because she was ill. Marcia was a fixture at our shows, wrapped in her rug against the cold, happy to discuss Gordons past & present. She will be sadly missed.

We send our deepest sympathy to her family.

Pointer & Setter Field Trials

Hello everyone, we have a message from Gordon Strachan regarding the cancellation of the Pointer & Setter Field Trials.

“I wish to advise that the Gordon Setter Club of Vic Inc Pointer & Setter field trials are cancelled due to lack of birds. I would like to thank all who supported the trials with their entries, we would have had a field each day.”
